Attendees at this year’s Jane Austen Summer Program will get a glimpse of Young Jane Austen via specially created “calling cards” in their registration bags, and can also bid for a signed copy at the silent auction.
Sponsored by the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, this 4-day symposium focuses on one of Austen’s works each summer; this year’s book is Emma. The Austen Summer Program is designed to appeal to established scholars, high school teachers, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
Events include lectures, demonstrations, discussions, film screenings, tours, theatrical performances, formal teas, and a Regency ball.
